Approving or requesting revisions

At any point during the review, your client can make a decision.

Approve: Click the green Approve button in the sidebar. A confirmation dialog will appear. Once confirmed, you will receive an email with a timestamped record of the approval. Any feedback comments left earlier in the session stay attached to the request, so you can see notes even when the reviewer approves.

Does approving one file approve them all? On a request with more than one file, yes. A decision belongs to the request rather than to the file on screen, so a single approval signs off every file attached to it. That is true of Request Revisions too: it sends the whole request back, not just the file the reviewer happened to be looking at.

Because of that, a multi-file request names the scope up front. The verdict button reads "Approve all 4 files" rather than "Approve this file", and the confirmation dialog lists every file by name before anything is submitted, so a reviewer who only meant to sign off the file in front of them is pointed at Request Revisions instead. A request with a single file is unchanged and still reads "Approve this file".

Request Revisions: Click the orange Request Revisions button. Your client can add as many comments as needed before submitting. If they try to request revisions without any comments, they will be prompted to add at least one.

Both decisions are final for that review session. The status of the request on your dashboard updates within about 30 seconds, so you may need to wait a moment or refresh to see it.

You also receive an email once your client has finished. It is sent a few minutes after their last comment rather than immediately, so a review with several comments arrives as one email rather than one per comment.
