File versions, ZIP downloads, line comments on text files, and editor-style playback.
The biggest update since launch. Versions, bulk downloads, a proper text reviewer, and playback controls that behave the way an edit suite does.
File versions. You can now upload a new version to an existing review link instead of creating a fresh request every round. Reviewers get a version switcher and can look back at any earlier cut with the feedback it received, and when someone requests revisions your request page prompts you to send the next version. The link you already gave your client never changes.
Download all as ZIP. When a request has more than one file, the download menu can save all of them at once as a single archive. It works on your own request page, on the review link, and on the read-only team view. Watermarks still apply inside the ZIP.
Comment on a line of text. Text and code files now show line numbers and a word wrap toggle, and reviewers can leave a comment against a specific line. The line number travels with the comment everywhere it appears, including the Markdown export, so a copy note or a script change lands exactly where you meant it.
Editor-style playback. The video and audio players picked up the transport controls you already know. Space bar plays and pauses, comma and period jump 5 seconds, and J, K and L shuttle through 2x, 4x, 8x and 16x with slow motion when you hold K. Audio mutes above 2x, the way a timeline does when you scrub.
Light and dark mode. There is now a theme setting with Light, Dark and System options. The review interface stays dark by design, since that is the right background for judging picture.
Password protection and client downloads are free. Both moved to the Free plan. Password-protected links, account-required reviews and letting your client download the file are now included on every plan, not just Pro. Repeated wrong password guesses are throttled, and the limit follows whoever is guessing rather than locking your client out of the link.
Watermarking on images. Watermarked downloads previously covered video only. Images are now watermarked too, using your own logo on Pro, and there is a new help article explaining exactly what is and is not covered.
Better notification email. The feedback digest now contains the actual comments and any annotated frames, rather than only telling you that feedback had arrived, and the approval email carries the full approval receipt. The "notify me when a reviewer opens a link" setting now fires reliably.
More formats open properly. Six formats the app fully supports, .odt, .ods, .odp, .rtf, .csv and .xml, were being refused by the file picker even though they worked when dragged in. CAD and Revit files now render on all three views rather than only the reviewer page. Photoshop, Illustrator, TIFF and EPS files show a clear message and a download button instead of a broken image.
Fixes worth naming. Storage was being enforced at a tenth of what each plan includes, so uploads could be refused while the bar showed plenty of room. Multi-file feedback exports lost track of which file each comment belonged to. Video poster frames now come from the 10 second mark rather than a percentage of duration, so a long file no longer opens on a black frame. The Annotate button on images no longer waits for a comment to exist first. Comments can carry several attachments, and right-click is disabled across the viewers.
A new home. On 31 July we moved File Approved onto new backend infrastructure. There is nothing for you to do and nothing changed in how the product works, but uploads, review pages and notifications all have more headroom than they did.
